Janie is the owner of Partners in Health Management, a clinic she started June 2, 2016. Janie began her career in healthcare as a Nursing Assistant at age sixteen. She went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, an Associate Degree Registered Nurse, a Baccalaureate Degree Registered Nurse, a Masters of Science Registered Nurse and a Post Graduate Degree Nurse Practitioner. She is Certified by both credentialing organizations, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nursing Credentialing Center. Janie has worked in many different areas of health care and loves the versatility of the Nursing profession. She has worked in Medical Surgical Nursing, Maternal/Child Nursing, the Operating Room, Industrial Nursing, and Nursing education. She retired as an educator in 2011. After retiring from education, she worked for a Family Practice physician as a Nurse Practitioner. She soon realized a great many of her patients had diabetes. She also realized she did not have the time or the resources to help these individuals. She made it her goal to study diabetes and become a Certified Diabetes Educator. With the acquisition of this additional knowledge, she could help educate individuals with diabetes to better manage their disease. She received her diabetes certification from the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators in 2014. Diabetes is a very complex disease. Persons with diabetes have many comorbidities, and most do not know how to manage or prevent complications. . Partners in Health Management was recently awarded Certification of Accreditation from the American Association of Diabetes Educators. In addition to diabetes education and management, the clinic provides primary care, women’s health, treatment of minor injuries, physicals, and many other healthcare services. Janie is a Christian, a people person who loves caring for the sick and loves her community. So, when the Lord called on her to start the clinic she knew she had to do it and she has not looked back. Every day is faced with challenges making days very rewarding. She states “she is the happiest she has ever been.” Making a sick person feel better is God’s work and that she feels is her calling.
